Introducing Dr. Scott Sachs – Our New Pediatric Dentist
Parents are asking, “Where is Dr. Sachs?”
Parents across Hampton Roads have been scouring the internet and social media to find out! So we have breaking news: Look no further, Dr. Sachs has joined Coastal Pediatric Dental & Anesthesia.
Dr. Sachs will be joining Dr. Reynolds to complete an all star team of pediatric dentists dedicated to taking the best of care of your children’s teeth in Hampton Roads.
Both Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Sachs are Board Certified Pediatric Dentists (Children’s Dentists). Doctors Sachs and Reynolds completed 2 years of additional post doctoral training in pediatrics and caring for children’s teeth. They also voluntarily completed both their written and oral board examinations of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and maintain this certification. Board Certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is the highest certification a specialist in pediatric dentistry can hold. This makes the two of them a rock star team.
Dr. Scott Sachs is a member of the professional staff at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD). He sees patients at Coastal Pediatric Dental & Anesthesia, as well as patients at CHKD’s ambulatory surgery centers and CHKD Hospital in Downtown Norfolk. He is also a member of the Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Who is Scott Sachs?
Scott Sachs is a Hampton Roads native, born and raised in Virginia Beach. He attended University of Virginia for his undergraduate studies. He earned his dental degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Following VCU, Dr. Sachs moved to New York City to complete a general practice residency and then his pediatric dental residency at New York University. Although he loves New York City, Scott is proud to call Hampton Roads home, where he lives with his lovely wife and their children – two kids and a dog. When he and the family are not enjoying the beach, Scott enjoys cooking, being active, and NBA basketball. Dr. Sachs’s secret passion is working on his prized sneaker and Stetson collections!
What does Dr. Sachs love about being a children’s dentist?
Our new pediatric dentist knew he was going to be a dentist like his father, but he also wanted to do something completely different. Being a kid at heart, pediatric dentistry seemed the way to go. Dr. Sachs enjoys being able to hang with the kids, no matter their age. Doing their dental work is just an added service. And just in case you didn’t believe Dr. Sachs is a kid at heart, there is an ongoing battle between the doctors at Coastal over who has the most fun at Disney. Both Dr. Sachs and Dr. Reynolds claim the title because they have more fun there than their children, but honestly it may be Dr. Wong since he goes without kids despite the fact that his wife hates amusement parks!
